Flying Off...

Ok, things never been so smooth, my house internet down again before I wanted to update this post before I leave. Now I have to come to nearby cyber cafe to update this.

To all my dearest reader, I'm going off today, now really have mixed feeling to leave. According to my colleague told me from Dubai, I may have to stay at least 1 month there, but this working company can change their plan anytime, I just afraid they will ask me stay for forever there till the project completed.

I'll transit at Bahrain then only to Abu Dhabi. I'll stay at Abu Dhabi nearby our regional office, but my working site is in Dubai, they said about 1 - 2 hours journey driving, that mean I have to travel to work everyday? Oh no...

Whatever it is, I definitely will miss you all here. Don't worry of me, I'll be alright and when I come back I'll still the same. I promise!

Miss You All & I'll Be Back!!!

Dubai Working Trip Confirmed

Just got my flight confirmation on Monday, I'll leaving Malaysia on 29 August (Wednesday) 4.20pm. I still don't know when only can come back, the flight ticket due date is on 25 October. I may come back earlier than the date but just depend on my work when can be done.

Before got the chance to go overseas for work, I always feel wanted to go someday to gain some good experiences. When after I really got the chance, I felt like something border me to go, maybe my working company gave me too short period of notice to let me know I have to go, other factors are I still got my family's commitment over here, my good friends and etc...?

Why is this kind of feeling can happened on me? Is that normal? Or is that I worry too much? I hope nothing bad happen here when I'm not around. I really gonna miss you all so much.

Dream Theater (Systematic Chaos)

Dream Theater has released their latest album 'Systematic Chaos' in early June 2007. I bought this album end of June 2007 when the album just arrived in Malaysia.

I've been listened to this album almost everyday, and I would like to say it's kick-ass, they still rock as hard as they are with the ultimate fast kick-double-bass drum, lightning speed lead guitar and bass guitar picking, and super fast fingers on keyboard.

The album track listing:

1. In The Presence of Enemies Pt.1 (9:00)
2. Forsaken (5:36)
3. Constant Motion (6:55)
4. The Dark Eternal Night (8:51)
5. Repentance (10:43)
6. Prophets Of War (6:01)
7. The Ministry of Lost Souls (14:57)
8. In The Presence of Enemies Pt.2 (16:38)

For my opinion, I prefer 'The Ministry of Lost Souls' which is more melody and progressive, I like the final part of the song, the guitar solo simply awesome.

My second choice is 'The Dark Eternal Night', this song really can blast out your speakers, it's very heavy after all. 'In The Presence of Enemies Pt.1 & Pt.2' also are my favorite tune from this album, it really sounds like Rush in some parts.

'Constant Motion' and 'Forsaken' are not that bad after all after listened to in for some times.

The Dark Eternal Night video clip

The sound really heavy with the 7 strings lead guitar, too bad they never show John Petrucci's guitar solo part. I'm surprised that John Myung (bassist) was using Music Man's 5 strings bass instead of his signature series Yamaha's 6 strings bass guitar. As for drummer, Mike Portnoy as usual still using his most craziest drum set. Jordan Rudess the keyboardist really tried out everything to get the perfect sound match with the songs. For vocalist, I got not much comment on it, I think they should change it.

Overall, I like this album. If you love heavy rock musics or progressive rock musics, you shouldn't miss this album.

Dream Theater Rocks!!!

Hiatus Postponed

Due to too short period of notice, the management couldn't get the flight ticket for me... So, I'm back! Anyway... I definitely will fly on Tuesday or Wednesday.

I'm back for a moment... kekeke...

Away & Hiatus...

This is not a joke, I really have to hiatus for some time till further notice...

On Friday morning, I got a called from management and told me I have to go to Dubai on next day (Saturday), I was like............. Damn! Why so sudden? I still not ready at all and now I have to leave so soon.

There goes my plan to go back my hometown Butterworth on Merdeka Day is spoil, it's been 5 months I never go back to visit my parents since I join this company. I need to work on every Saturday so I just hope got any holiday on near weekend or weekend then only I got time to go back.

I'm leaving for work, not for vacation, and this project need to work 7 days a week. I still don't know when I only can come back, they told me my flight ticket is open... oh my... this can drag up to few weeks or months.

Oh no! I maybe will miss Jacky Cheung's concert on 14th September 2007, I already bought the RM318 ticket!!! Arghhh!!! Have to ask my cousin to sell it out if I really can't make it.

I can't promise that I can update my blog in Dubai, as for a new construction project, the internet access at temporary site office is very limited, further more I don't know I got time to blog or not over there.

I really hope you all don't mind I hiatus so suddenly, I really don't like this kind of situation. Don't miss me, but I'll miss you all... Hope I can back in action again soon. Never forget to thank those called and SMS me to wish me well, I really touched.

Lovers' Day?

Few days back on Monday, I get a free newspaper, The Sun when I was about drove to work, then I saw an article on the front page... Lover's Day.

I was like... what the hell? What Lovers' Day was that? I thought Valentines Day is the world recognised lovers' day. Some people said that the 15th day of the first month in Chinese Lunar Calender (Chap Goh Meh) is the lovers' day in for Chinese. Now got another version of Lovers' Day? Oh no! Not again!!!

It was celebrated in Taipei, it says that Chinese Valentine's Day or Qi Xi (The Night of Sevens). Qi Xi is the celestial story of two lovers, a mortal cowherd and a fairy weaver, banished to opposite ends of the Milky Way by the Goddess of Heaven, who cross the bridge of magpies to meet the seventh day of the seventh lunar moon. Chinese mythology believes that during the night of Qi Xi, the two stars representing the lovers.

I wonder... wasn't it seventh lunar moon is the 'Hungry Ghost' month? Will it be dating with something spiritual? This is my first time heard about it in my life on this Lovers' Day. Is that the particular day you only love your lover? If you really love your lover, everyday can be Lovers' Day right?

So... I'm thinking now, what type of days do we still have to celebrate? Do this world got Rockers' Day? I'm looking forward for it... jeng jeng jengggggggggg®

Late To Work?

I believe all of us experienced before late to work due to woke up late or stuck in traffic jam. As live in the city especially in Kuala Lumpur with the 'excellent' traffic system, I'm sure all of us got the problem late to work due to traffic jam.

It's very frustrated if we late to work due to traffic then get scolded or warned by boss, it's not our fault right? I tell you, most of the time I tried to get out from house to work earlier than my usual time, the traffic will be more worst, it end up I even more late to work, sometimes when I get out a little bit late from house, the traffic was so smooth. You say la... wanna hit wall or not?

Luckily I never face to this situation before (picture below), if really got I sure will vomit blood, then go hit wall, then jump sea... (luckily Kuala Lumpur no sea).

Do you know what is the situation that you really don't want to see if you stuck in traffic jam to work? Scroll to below...

About Van Halen

Van Halen is an American hard rock band. In 1972, the Van Halen brothers formed a three-piece band were known as Mammoth, with Eddie Van Halen as lead vocalist and guitarist, Alex Van Halen on drums, and Mark Stone on bass. They rented a sound system from David Lee Roth, but decided they could save money by letting Roth and his P.A. system into the band. Michael Anthony was called over to David Lee Roth's father's basement (where the band rehearsed) to see how he compared. Anthony, the bassist and frontman of the band "Snake," had seen Mammoth performing at a festival. Eddie, Alex, and Anthony jammed late into the night and hired Anthony as the band's new bassist/backup vocalist.

They enjoyed immediate popularity and influence with the release of their debut album, Van Halen in 1978, and to date have selling more than 80 million albums worldwide and earning the band the Guinness Book of World Records title for the most number one hits on the Billboard Mainstream Rock List. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, Van Halen is #19 on the list of top selling artists of all time (having sold more than 56 million albums in the U.S.) and is one of only five rock groups that have had two albums sell more than 10 million copies in the U.S. The band and its best known former members were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 12, 2007.

In addition to being recognized for artistic contributions and success, the band is known for the drama surrounding its lead singer spot. Although the instrumentalists have remained the same (Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen and until 2006, Michael Anthony), the band has recorded/toured with three different vocalists: David Lee Roth, Sammy Hagar and Gary Cherone. Each departed (at least once) under cloudy circumstances. More recently Michael Anthony was replaced in the band by Eddie Van Halen's son Wolfgang, but this new lineup is not yet known to have performed or recorded.

Eddie Van Halen

Following their 2004 concert tour the band was on hiatus again until September 2006, when word that Wolfgang Van Halen was confirmed as a new member of the band replacing Michael Anthony on bass. Other than three new songs in 2004, the band has released no new material since their last album Van Halen III was released in 1998. After long speculation, in August 2007 it was finally confirmed that the band would do a tour with the Roth/Van Halen/Van Halen/Van Halen lineup in late 2007 across North America.

Rockstar of The Week - Stevie Ray Vaughan

It's weekend again, this week I'm going to do a special tribute as remembrance one of the greatest guitarist in history, Stevie Ray Vaughan or SRV (October 3, 1954 - August 27, 1990). This month will be his 17th RIP anniversary, it also one of the great lost on this planet for 17 years.

Let's enjoy some of my selection tunes from SRV, Pride and Joy, is one of his first career hit. Then followed by Testifyin' it's another big hits. Next is my favorite fast tune Scuttle Buttin' and finally the most fine guitar work by SRV for his wife Lenny, also one of my all time favorite tune.

About Stevie Ray Vaughan (SRV)

Stephen 'Stevie' Ray Vaughan was born in Dallas, Texas, was one of the greatest American Blues Guitarist. He was the younger brother of Jimmie Vaughan.

In his early life, SRV initially wanted to play drum, Michael Quinn gave SRV a guitar when he was eight years old. Then his brother Jimmie Vaughan gave him his first guitar lesson. Later he quoted in Guitar Player Magazine as saying "My brother Jimmie actually was one of the biggest influences on my playing. He really was the reason why I started to play, watching him and seeing what could be done."

Stevie Ray Vaughan

After his brother taught him some few chords, he taught himself to play and he played entirely by ear and never learned how to read sheet music. SRV's talent caught the attention of guitarist Johnny Winter, and blues-club owner Clifford Antone.

SRV first band was called Paul Ray and the Cobras, and used to play in clubs and bars in mid 1970s. Following the break up he formed Triple Threat in late 1975, after 2 of the band members left for solo career, the remaining 2 members with SRV named the band as Double Trouble.

Stevie Ray Vaughan

Death

SRV and Double Trouble keep on touring and were very successful. On August 25, 1990, SRV and Double Trouble finished up the summer leg of the tour with shows at Alpine Valley Music Theatre, just outside of East Troy, Wisconsin. The show also featured Robert Cray and his Memphis Horns along with Eric Clapton's set. Alex Hodges, Double Trouble's tour manager, arranged flight by helicopter with Omni Flights.

The next morning, SRV had what was described as a "horrible" nightmare. He dreamt that he was at his own funeral and saw thousands of mourners. He felt "terrified, yet almost peaceful". He shared this story with his bandmates and some trusted crew members. The band played that night, as bass player Tommy Shannon hopped a helicopter already back to Chicago.

Eric Clapton played his set next. At the end of the show, as fog settled over the audience in the arena, Clapton introduced Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray, Robert Cray, and Jimmie Vaughan. The musicians chose the appropriate titled "Sweet Home Chicago", a blues classic written by Robert Johnson.

The musicians expected a long bus ride back to Chicago. SRV was informed by a member of Clapton's crew that three seats were open on one of the helicopters returning to Chicago with Clapton's crew, enough for SRV, Jimmie Vaughan, and Jimmie Vaughan's wife Connie. It turned out there was only one seat left, which Stevie Ray Vaughan requested from his brother, who obliged. Stevie strapped himself next to Clapton's crew. It was 12:44 am. Pilot Jeffrey Browne guided the copter off the ground as the lights flashed below. Seconds later, the pilot banked the copter into a 300-foot high hill with the twisted metal scattered over an area of 200 square feet. All on board were killed instantly.

No one realized that the crash had occurred until the helicopter failed to arrive in Chicago, and the wreckage was only found with the help of its locator beacon. The main cause of the crash was believed to be pilot error. Chris Layton, Jimmie and his wife were waiting for their copter so they could leave. However they hadn't found out about the news until they returned to the motel in Chicago. The next morning Stevie Ray Vaughan's brother Jimmie and good friend Eric Clapton were called to identify the bodies.

Stevie Ray Vaughan is interred in the Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas.

REDtone The Big Cheater!!!

I really got no any better words to describe this most lousiest ever telecommunication services from REDtone. They not only worst in their services but also a big cheater ever I've been gone through.

I made report about my internet connection was down since last Thursday and it still not recovered until now. Everytime when I called them, they'll answered me can be done by few hours, but everyday when I reached home from work it still the same!

Today I called again and I really raised up my anger, then they promised me will send a technician to my place to check it out. I told them I only can be at home by 6.00pm, in the afternoon a technician called me that he was at they place I stay, come on! It's office hour how do you expect me at home? So I told the technician to come back by 6.00pm and he agreed.

It's unusual I went back home right after office hour, I reach home about 5.40pm and I was waiting for the technician, then I checked again with their customer support, the person answered my call promised will informed a technician to be at my house soon, he also told me will call me back right after it.

I waited till 6.05pm and still no body call or come to my house, then I called back again to the service center and that time no body picked up my phone call! I called back to the technician which the number recorded in my mobile phone, no body answered my phone call at all too! I SMS to the number and still no reply!

I keep on calling both numbers till late evening, the result still the same, no body answer it! Damn... I wonder what kind of services from them, they always broke the promises. They also promised will deduct my monthly fee for my lost but they still charge me with the full amount!

This time I really need anyone of you come and kill me off! I really can't stand anymore with this most unreliable ISP I ever use. My internet connection down again since yesterday till now still not recover. Now I have to check my mails and work stuff in a cyber cafe.

This morning I called to the service center and after a moment they called back and told me the line is up. Then just now when I reach home in evening, I tried to login, still the same result, the server is down!

I really need to make online payment on my hometown's utilities bill and some other bills, it's already due to date and I can't pay it! I'm not going to do online payment in cyber cafe which is unsafe for this kind of transaction. Now who going to pay me the late payment penalties?!!!

I really can't understand why got this kind of ISP service which only respond to customer in office hour, it suppose has 24 hours customer technical service. It's unfair to people like me who have to work early morning and came back home late evening, if the line is down, who I going to ask for help?

Where is the customer right? We should have right to choose which ISP or other services, but now I got no other choices, no TM here means no Streamyx, the others all less coverage or no coverage at all! Don't ask me to move house to somewhere got Streamyx, it's better you come and kill me off!

eB/REDtone Is The WORST ISP Ever!!!
