Just To Buy One Hour Of Time

This is a good story I got from my email but in Malay Language, but I translate it into English la, anyway... my English only half bucket of water, if you don't understand just 'hantam' me ok?

A father came back late night after work and looks tired, the son only 7 years old approached to his father and get the briefcase, then the son asked:

Son : Daddy, may I ask you a question?
Father : mmm... What's that?
Son : Daddy... How much you earn per hour for your job?
Father : This is none of your business!

The father looks fierce...

Son : Daddy... Please... I just want to know, please let me know how much you earn per hour?
Father : 20 dollars per hour, why you want to know?
Son : Oh... 20 dollars.

The son looks down...

Son : May I borrow 10 dollars from you daddy?

The father started angry then said...

Father : No wonder you asked me how much I earn per hour, what you want to do with 10 dollar so much?! Must be wanted to buy toys right? Daddy work so hard to earn money for you and you wanted to waste it like that? What time now? Go to bed now!

The son keep quiet and went into his room. The father then sat on a sofa and think why his son need so much of money in fact he never ask so much money before. After 2 hours, the father thinks that maybe his son need to money to buy books for his study. Then the father walked into his son's room, and he found out his son still not sleeping yet.

Father : You really need 10 dollars? Nah! Take it.

The father took out his 10 dollars from his wallet, the son looks so happy and smile.

Son : Thank you daddy.

The son then took off his pillow and the father saw another 10 dollars under the pillow. The father started angry again and said...

Father : You already got money why you asking from me some more?!

The son looks down then took all the money together and explained...

Son : All these money I collected from my school pocket money, it's still not enough so I ask from you another 10 dollars.
Father : Still not enough to buy what?!!!
Son : Daddy... now I got 20 dollars, you take it all now, I just want to buy your ONE hour of time only to have dinner with me tomorrow, I really miss the moment we all having dinner together.

The moral of this story, please spend more time with your kids or your love one. We can see now days kids are losing their parents love. Most parents are busy for earning more income, but they never think of what their kids really need. Youngster now days become so bad because most of them never really have love from parents, they rather mix with outside friends and learn bad things. This also one of the factor to create our social problems.

I Love You All~~~!

Rehabilitation Program At Penchala River

This event was held on last Saturday morning at Taman Rimba Kiara, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail Kuala Lumpur. This charity and awareness program was organized by Global Environment Centre (GEC), CIMB Investment Bank and Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL).

The participants for this event were from GEC, DBKL, CIMB Investment Bank and Orphans. I represent my Department as special guest as a witness for this program. This 'Love Our Rivers' program has been done by GEC for years at the same place. The upstream (starting point) of Penchala River is the only one 'cleanness' river in Kuala Lumpur. I drank the water before, and it's so clean and refreshing.

The main purpose for this program is to create awareness and eduction knowledge to children and adults how important the rivers as our main water source for our daily needs. The program contains how to rehabilitate the river by cleaning, planting wetland pants and bio monitoring education.

For your information, wetland plants help to filter and treat polluted water. Many people don't know about it, they thought is a bushes then cut it off.

'Drop Structural' (with stones/rocks) is to slower down the river water flow. It will reduce the erosion of river banks and prevent the wetland's plants washing off by strong water flow.

Bio monitoring education to orphans.

Bio monitoring is to monitor the water quality of a river by using living creatures as an indicator. This method is very effective and without using any chemical test on the water. Picture above shows the test of oxygen content in the water. The parameters to determine the water quality status are Temperature, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Suspended Solid (SS), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), pH Level, Conductivity, Minerals and Chemicals content.

Many thanks to GEC for their hard work on environment concern. If every Malaysians have the mind set of taking care of our environment, I'm sure we all will live in a healthy and clean country. Please think about our next generation, we don't want to live in illness condition, we don't want to wear mask all the time.

Mega Project - SMART Tunnel

How many of you heard about this SMART Project before? I think those who living or always traveling in Kuala Lumpur will know a little bit of it. SMART is stand for 'Stormwater Management And Road Tunnel'.

I visited this project last year with different occasions. This project implemented by Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia and estimate will complete by middle of year 2007.

The function of SMART Tunnel is to divert flood discharges from just below the Sg Klang/Sg Ampang confluence into the Holding Basin (Kg Berembang). A multiple-bay bell mouth Intake Structure diverts the flood discharge from the holding basin into bypass tunnel. The stormwater bypass tunnel of about 9.7 km in length conveys the flood flows to the Storage Pond (Taman Desa).

SMART Tunnel Concepts

A double decked motorway within the bypass for a length of approximately 3 km starts near Kg Pandan roundabout and ends near the Jalan Istana Interchange at Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Highway.

I was walking almost 2 km inside the tunnel then only met the TBM. The feeling really different if we walk at the open space, I felt quite difficult to breath because of confine space inside the tunnel, the air flow is very limited.

Anyway, during the construction of tunnel, females are not allow to enter the tunnel, I don't know why, it not only apply at here but whole world too! They explained to me it's like some kind of jinx will happen if female go into the tunnel during the construction going on.

Don't Ever Lie To Kids

There was this guy sunbathing in the nude at the beach. Well, this little girl comes up to him, so he covers his private parts with a newspaper.

The little girl says, "What's under there?" So the man answers, "A bird." The girl goes away and the man falls asleep. When he wakes up, he is in a hospital and in great pain. A doctor comes up to his bed and asks, "What happened?"

The man answers, "I don't know. I was at the beach and I fell asleep after talking to a little girl." So the doctor tells this to the Police, and they go to the beach to find any witnesses.

When they get there, they see the little girl the man was talking about. So they ask her if she did anything to the man. She answers, " I didn't do anything to the man, but while he was sleeping, I played with his bird. After a while, it spit at me, so I broke its neck, burned its nest, and smashed all its eggs.
