Back to Hell & Looking Forward

Today will be my final day in Malaysia, time flies... This trip is the shortest home trip I ever had so far, normally I got 2 weeks break but this time only 12 days break. I'll leaving tomorrow early morning back to UAE.

I still had not enough all my favorite foods, recently I also can't eat much, must be due to age is catching up, not like those days can eat and drink as much as I can.

This trip also not much friends I managed to meet up, maybe due to wrong timing, busy and many reasons. Furthermore I'm not a superstar, who is gonna meet me this small little ugly virus? Haha...

Just cut short the story, nothing to shout about this time, I wasn't so happy on this home trip... Let's look at some pictures of my favorite foods and some scenes in my hometown.

My all time favorite food - 'Char Koay Teow'

My favorite home made 'Wan Tan Mee' from Raja Uda

My favorite 'Jawa Mee' from Sin Tat Garden, Raja Uda

Delicious 'Claypot Fish Head'

Tasty 'Duck Meat Koay Teow Th'ng' at Penang 7th Road

My favorite Ipoh Old Town White Coffee

This time I managed to taste our King of Fruit, Durian after 2 years I missed out. The moment I bite on it, I was so touched and almost cried out.

Butterworth Sin Tat Garden Food Heaven

This place is the heaven of foods in Butterworth, it's only walking distance from my home. It leaves me lots of memory from those days used to hanged out with friends eating here in evening. I'm glad it still remain as food heaven here, the only different is I can't recognised most of the food stall sellers anymore...

Penang Island view from Ferry

Few days back I got message from my boss, I may transfer back to Malaysia soon, to me it's a good news, finally I can come back for good! Anyway, the situation may change last minute, it's just a plan from management, they can change it anytime, so I can't promise when I can come back, but I do hope it happens ASAP!!!

Hell Again...

Nikkor 10-24mm DX Ultra Wide Angle Lens

Finally I got my ultra wide angle lens to complete my lenses line-up. I bought it in Penang a day after I touched down to my hometown.

It is a good lens and I really like it very much. This lens now become my kit lens and I attached it on my D90 for most of the time now. Although it has very huge distortion, but I really like the effects. Did I mentioned 'Ultra Wide Angle'? So, as expected, the distortion is visible.

This wall just build few days before I came back to my home, it was just normal wire mesh fancing and now become brick wall. I believe sooner or later the wall will be painted with all kind of designs by vandalism.

Malaysia Home Trip: KL (Day 1 - Day 4)

Sorry for late posting on my home trip in Malaysia. My first few days was damn busy meeting up with friends in KL. Too bad not much were turning up on Saturday night, anyway... better than nothing.

As usual my home trip always so hectic, and many called up me and fark me why not meeting up with them? I really sorry to those I did not managed to meet up.

Day 1
On first day of my arrival to KL, I managed to eat some of my favorite foods in Bangsar. Then heading to 'Mystery' at The Curve to meet up my 'damn old' buddies for drinking & rocking session...

Satay

My favorite 'Wat Tan Hor'

My favorite KL food, 'Hokkien Mee'

Rock pub, Mystery in Royal Bintang Hotel, The Curve

The band, Razor X... Damn rock!!!

Thanks to my old buddies found this place, I really miss rock live band. This band are really good on stage, they played very well on Led Zeppelin songs, the vocalist really look like Malaysian's Robert Plant from the legendary classic rock band Led Zeppelin. For all rockers, this is the place! You'll never regret to watch the rock show.

Day 2
Woke up quite late after heavy drinking session with old buddies, so I had brunch on dim sum with a good friend I knew him when working in Dubai. We had a long good chit chat session on work and get some valuable info from him.

Siew Mai

Har Kow

Char Siew Bao

Chicken Feet

Long time never had this kind of 'Non-Halal' dim sum already, I really enjoy eating it!!!

During evening, as per planned, met up with my old-fark blogger buddies. Too bad that night many were busying on own matters, only three of them turn up. Anyway, it was fun with small group with a long long tok kok sing song session... At first was planning to meet up in Chilis, too bad the place was too packed and we end up meeting up in a Japanese restaurant and I forgot the restaurant name...

Forgot what this dish name as well...

Day 3
Since I was staying at Mid Valley, most of my meeting location were in Mid Valley, no need trouble on others to fetch me to anywhere else. Nothing much happened on day 3, just meeting up with old ex colleague and had long chit chat on any 'kang tao' on career.

We met up at Killiney Kopitiam, sounds like KilKenny my favorite beer all time... LOL

Mee Siam

During evening, met up with my ex-old housemate which also my ex-old colleage mate. We had a good time on tok kok sing song bla bla bla for the whole night long. Really missed those days crazy together...

Day 4
It was my final day in KL, since it was Monday, all were busy with working and I just met up with my ex-colleague just resigned from Dubai and still seeking for job. Then early evening I heading to KLIA ready to fly back to my hometown Penang!!!

So... Stay tuned on my upcoming update on my home trip. I just got my new Nikkor ultra wide angle lens, more pictures to come soon!

Short Trip in Muscat, Oman

I guess everyone is waiting for more pictures on Oman from me, here I come!!!

I wasn't feeling well for the past few days due to very bad tooth pain, my 3rd wisdom teeth now only came out, it's very late for me to have wisdom teeth. According to the facts, wisdom teeth will be occured in between age 17 and 25, and now my wisdom teeth is delaying more than 7 years! What a 7 years itchy from my teeth... LOL.

Alright, back to the topic, I managed to spend few hours to tour around Muscat town. Thanks to my working company's sub-contractor who so kind to offer me a ride in Muscat.

Sea Side at Mina Qaboos

Historic buildings along sea side

After that, I went to another sea side via Al Bustan road. I really amazed with their hard work on rock hills to build proper roads on it.

I didn't took the boat ride since I was in hurry. That's too bad, maybe will try it next time when got time.

Most of the pictures were taken from inside car, as I said just a short trip and I don't have time to snap proper pictures. Anyway, as you can see, this country really beautiful with natural scene and clean.

Greeting From Oman

I'm safe and sound in Oman now, thanks to my working company's sub-contractor giving me a warm welcome and help for this trip.

This country is quite different from UAE, from the scenery till the people here are much better, they are more friendly and the scenery here are much natural and more greeny than UAE. The only different is no high rise or special iconic buildings here.

My 1st two days was so busy, after check-in hotel, I was rushing to bank to settle my working company's document. The next day went to the government office to submit some documents and met up with out sponsor there.

The hotel I'm staying now is normal but clean, that's my main criteria to stay in any hotels. It also provide free internet access for customers, that's great! Unlike hotels in UAE, they charge on everything.

Haffa House Hotel

Guess what opposite of the hotel I'm staying? I saw a big Nikon sign and I'm really excited to walk in and take a look.

Nikon & Rolex & Other Branded Shop

I guess it's a luxury shopping place since it is selling Rolex and main seller of Nikon cameras and accessories and other branded staffs. The sales person there are very friendly, they'll smile and greet you, I was quite not used to it since I never met this kind of services in UAE.

When I stopped at Nikon corner, the sales person very kind to me, we chat quite some time and he allowed me to test Nikon 10-24mm DX lens! Wow!!! I don't even want to buy but he purposely let me test on it. The price are cheaper than selling in UAE but not as cheap as we can get in Malaysia.

Tested on Nikkor 10-24mm DX lens

I really got poisoned of this ultra wide angle lens already now, the picture quality really sharper than I expected. I may get this lens when I back to Penang soon.

Safe in Oman
