My Year of 2007

It's going to end of year 2007, time really flies, this year is the most meaningful year for me in my entire life. There were so much changes in my life especially on my career. This year also my nightmare year which my age has touched 30. Now I try to recall back what's going on throughout this whole year on myself...

The beginning of the year, I was together with a big group of my old friends celebrate the new year of 2007 in Langkawi. That was one of my best moment beginning of the year, we were drunk and partying like no tomorrow.

2007 New Year Celebration

Then during Chinese New Year, I became like a tour guide of Penang to bring my friends tour over Penang Island as well as the mainland too. Penang foods still are my No. 1 choice after all, not only that, Penang still my No. 1 place for living. (I'm from Penang ma... :P)

Next, this will be my most unforgettable moment in my blogging life, I was with a group of my blogger buddies successfully organized one of the biggest formal bloggers gathering. It was beyond of our expectation with so many participants and sponsors.

After the gathering, I knew lots of bloggers and also participated some other bloggers gathering too. I really enjoy with this kind of activities because I like to make more friends.

After 5 years struggling with my part time study on Bachelor of Civil Engineering, finally my dream came true for my convocation after waited for a year long. My parents and my younger brother followed all the way from Penang to Johor for my convocation. It was very tired but very meaningful moment in my life, I was dreaming to wear the marble hat since my childhood. Anyway, it sounds like an old man just graduated... hahaha.

My Convocation

This year also is my big changes in my career, I left government department after serviced for 5 years long. It was my most hard feeling to leave the department, but due to my future, I have to leave for good. Anyway, I really missed all my ex-colleagues there, sometimes they still contact me and have a short chat. They not only my ex-colleagues but also my friends.

My farewell from Drainage and Irrigation Department

After left government department, my working life started become more busy and challenging. After 4 months working with construction company, the company send me to Dubai for a mega project. I was so lucky that they send me here for better exposures and to gain more working experiences for my career. At first I was not so willing to work here, but after they allowed me to come back for a short while to settle my personal stuffs, now I'm ready to take this challenges.

Dubai (UAE) Life...

This year also my favorite year which my favorite soccer team for more than 20 years Manchester United finally clinched the 2006/2007 season English Premier League Champion. Besides that my current Formula 1 hero Kimi Raikkonen finally won his maiden 2007 world championship after so many years fighting for it.

Since I work in Dubai, my blogging life also reduced very much compare, this is because now I only can online during office hour. I don't have internet access at home, so my online time very limited since I'm very busy with my work now.

This year Christmas I still need to work, no holiday for us as I'm not Christian, so I have to spend my Christmas day on work together with my other colleagues. Anyway, we spend a little time during free time for some crazy moment...

After recall back what was happening on my year of 2007, this year really is my big changes year so far in my life. I really felt this year past very fast compare to previous years. Anyway, I'm looking forward for the year of 2008.

Wishing you all Happy New Year!!!

Reflexion

Sorry for no update for these few days as finally we got holiday for Raya Haji here for 3 days long. During this holiday we all were busy shifting and cleaning our new houses. After cleaning we took our best time to relaxing our mind, so I brought some of my new colleagues who never been to Madinat Jumeirah for a visit.

There were some changes which the place decorated with Christmas spirits. The weather was cooling and it was the best time to walk around the whole place.

This time I snapped lots of pictures and I found out the reflexion from the man made canal were quite interesting...

Hard Rock Cafe Dubai

It was continuous 2 weekends I went to Hard Rock Cafe (HRC) in Dubai with my colleagues. Before entering, I was thinking the cover charge to enter it must be expensive than HRC in Kuala Lumpur, surprisingly, here is no cover charge at all!

Me posting infront of Hard Rock Cafe Dubai

The price of foods and drinks are about the same in KL, but the best part is no taxes at all. I manage to find my favorite drink KilKenny in HRC Dubai and the price is cheaper than what I had in KL.

The bar and crowds

At least I can hear more rock songs here compare to HRC in Kuala Lumpur which I posted long time ago that they don't play rock songs at all. The live band in Dubai was not bad at all, they were playing more on easy listening rock songs, they also good in entertain all listeners, so at least we don't feel that boring after all.

The silver satin vest was worn on stage by David Gilmour... Anyway, I'm more interested on David Gilmour's guitars than the vest, too bad I can't find it here.

Green Hat

For Chinese believes, wearing green hat (戴绿帽) is not a good sign, people always told me if your wife or girlfriend or your love one is leaving you, then you're wearing a green hat. I not sure it's true or not, it just a believe, but some people really does believe it and try not to wear any hat in green colour.

To me I don't care at all, furthermore I don't have anyone as my behalf. All I care is my own safety when I go into construction site. I don't call it as green hat, I called it as my tortoise helmet because it is hard and in green colour... haha.

My New Gear

Since I have to work in Dubai for long term, so I decided to bring along one of my wives (Guitar) to accompany me here, at least I got some entertainments here. To add more excitements to make love... Opsss... To play with my wife, I was looking for something small and powerful gear to make it more sexcited to play with, hehehe.

My entertainment gears

Finally I found a tone port from Line 6 - Tone Port GX, which not require a guitar amp, it only needs to connect to computer and use the software to control the sound effects. I bought it from Malaysia before I came back to Dubai. The price is reasonable, the size is small and light which is good for traveling use.

Line 6 - Tone Port GX connected to my laptop

Tone Port and Gearbox software (picture taken from www.line6.com)

The key features:

- 23 guitar/bass amp models with 29 cabinet models
- 6 vocal mic preamps for amazing, studio-quality tracks
- 29 stompbox and studio effect models, including Overdrive, Delay, Reverb, Wah, Flanger, Chorus, and more
- 1/4-inch instrument/mic input

So, what to expect so much? With the price about RM300 I get more than 10x of the sound effects I wanted. Now I still got no time to discover all the features, anyway I can keep on rocking with my headphone without disturbing to others.

Rock On!!!

Back to Battle Field

I'm back to my battle field safe and sound here in Dubai, thank for everyone who wished me well all the way.

It was the most tired trip back to Malaysia which I don't really have a good sleep at all, day time meeting with friends and packed my stuffs, late night shifted my stuffs to my younger brother's place. When I was in hometown (Butterworth) busy meeting up with my relatives and I don't even have time to meet up any of my hometown friends.

On my journey back to KL to get ready for my midnight flight, it was the most hardest moment for me to say goodbye with my parents. When I was in the bus, I looked around the bus station, suddenly the messy place became a warmer place to me, I don't know when I got chance to see it again.

Butterworth Bus Station

Bus counters and stalls under the bridge

The bus journey wasn't smooth at all, there were major construction on the highway and it makes the traffic horrible jam all the way, furthermore with heavy rain and some places infected with flash flood in KL, I reached KL quite late and not able to 'yam char' with some friends who wanted to meet me before I leave.

I just manage to have some drinks with my old best friends and my housemate before he sent me to KL Sentral. I managed to met up my younger brother and say goodbye to him before heading to KL Sentral.

My drinking buddies... Shanker, Ananth, Myself, Kalai & Yuva

This time I don't need to transit for 8 hours so long, my working company change the airline company so I just need to transit for 1 hour at Doha Airport in Qatar.

Flying off from Doha, Qatar

Now I'm back to work with a peace of mind after settled all my stuffs. This time will not be so boring anymore since I brought over my wife (guitar) to Dubai, I'll continue rock on in Dubai!
