Coolest Place in Dubai

Last weekend me and colleagues went to try out the coolest place in Dubai in conjunction farewell gathering with some of them who going to transfer back to Malaysia.

We went to Chill Out in Time Square Dubai, the entrance fee is AED60 per person with a complementary fruit juice. They claim that is the coolest place in Dubai (-6 degree C) instead of Ski Dubai in Mall of Emirate. They also provided jacket, hat and glove for guests to enter the place.

Right now the weather in Dubai now is quite cooling, day time maximum only 24 degree C and night time can gone down to 10-14 degree C. How I wish this kind of temperature can be sustained for all year long.

The glasses all made by ice too, it was so cold and I couldn't hold it too long since the glove they provided is not thick enough to keep my hands warm.

We just spend about 15 mins in the place, none of us can stand longer than that. For your info this Chill Out is not like Chill Out in Malaysia, here they don't sell alcohol drinks.

Anyway, today evening I'll fly back to Malaysia for Chinese New Year holiday, and as usual I'll straight back to my hometown Butterworth then will go to KL after a week. So... See you all again in Malaysia if got time to meet up yah!

Freaking Cold!!!

Life Goes On...

First of all I would like to thank all of you who has given wishes to me & my working company on the unlawful termination of my working project, currently we are working very hard to overcome this matter.

This will not to be the end of the world, as like my Managing Director said... 'Don't be upset, don't hate them, they won't feel it, we will only hurt ourselves if hate them. Stay strong and look forward, there are so many successes to be achieved in future. Take it as a good lesson'. I really want to put off my hat and salute him, even the bad situation now he still can stay strong. He knows that we'd fought so hard so far and this is not our failure.

Right now the project is taking over by consultants, it's not an easy task for a consultant to take over as a contractor job. Let's see how long they can manage it, man power is the priority for this project to coordinate the works, sources for building materials are not that easy to get here and it's not easy to deal with suppliers here.

Anyway, let's forget about it, right now I really have a hard feeling on all my colleagues who together for some time here, we are like best friends in this society, now suddenly all will gone to different directions. Normally in any projects, the transfer will by stages, so you won't feel so hard on it, now I really can't take it, I'll miss they all who will be transferred to different project site from me.

Last day at site office

Our strong team, for final gathering dinner...

It's easy to say goodbye to someone, because you'll meet the someone again in future. There is something that very hard for me to say goodbye to... that is our working project! I started the tender till kick start the project, growing with the project and now being terminated. There is no turning back unless miracle happens, or leave the company to join them. To me I'll never join them forever in my life, I rather to work in other fields if I'm jobless in construction field.

Goodbye...

For your info, I'll be transferred to Abu Dhabi after my Chinese New Year holiday, that's the latest news I had, but I'll traveling from Dubai to Abu Dhabi dairy for work after this. I really scared when think about it, it takes more than 1 1/2 hours to work and back home, just like when I came here in first few months, I was traveling from Abu Dhabi to Dubai for work. Company just rented apartments here with 1 year contract, so we have to stay in Dubai in order not to waste company's rental fee.

I was hoping company will send me back to Malaysia to work, but they still need more staffs in overseas, so I got no choice and have to accept it, it's better than jobless like others now days. Actually I'm pleased that I still got my job and I'm ready to take the new challenge now!

Keep Fighting!!!

Terminated!!!

I think most of you already knew that the Dubai Race Course project has been terminated by the client from newspapers.

I'll not saying so much, you all can see from my previous posts about the project I involved, everybody also hard to believe we can do it so fast. But the client still wants to terminate us, to me it's about money, everyone can see that the client wants to kill us just to save their money and faces.

According to newspaper, we'd already completed 55% of overall progress and just left 5% for our scope, the rest 40% are Nominated Sub-Contractor scopes. It is true! How can they justify 5% balance work is delay? We expect to finish the 5% works the latest by March 2009. Our baseline program is to complete 100% by 7 Oct 2009!

We still have 10 months to go and we get terminated with very unfair ways. The consultants failed to deliver the designs on time and how to expect us to build it? After we build there will be lots of changes again and again! What is this?!!! Nobody understand the construction engineering, all the late confirmations expect us to complete it in very short period? Somemore they always find fault on minor issues and make it become big issues, how ridiculous!

I don't want to mention who are so unprofessional in this case, but I'm sure they won't last longer in this construction world. My working company is losing too much of money just because they won't pay us on what we've done! I believe in karma, god is watching them!

Right now I still stay in Dubai to help my working company and partner on necessary works to fight back our rights, I may not come back for this Chinese New Year, but I do hope I can come back for it, at least I got my holiday to rest.

I'll never forget it for the rest of my life, I've been involved with the tender, then kick start the project and run the project, now get terminated in unfair ways. I really upset on it, now the situation is Arabian kills Arabian, Malaysian kills Malaysian.

Damn It!!!
