View From Top

First of all I would like to wish all belated Merry Christmas and advance Happy New Year to you all. I was damn busy recently due to work and no holiday at all during Christmas day.

This is my first time and also will be my last time to get a chance to go on top via tower crane in my current working site. I received an instruction from director to snap some site photo before end of the project. I always wish to go up to see the view from top, and now I got it!

Overall view

Hotel Atrium view

Massive works

Another overall view

Burj Dubai (tallest building in the world) as background

Tunnel works

Sunset view

Me hanging in the air

It was tiring but exciting experience to go up each tower cranes to get the nice view from top. The strong cold wind blowing all the time and I was so cold that time, but it was worth to go up to have a clear view for the project.

Super Jump Queue

We always can see how people jump queue to enter a bus, today I discover best ever jump queue to enter a bus at my working site. A group of Chinese workers from China shown how clever they jump queue on a bus.

Super Jump Queue

Some workers were climbing into the bus via window. I wonder what so rush to them, normally I can heard group of workers roaring and shouting to get a seat in a bus to go back to their labour camp. So many accidents happened before just because everyone were rushing to enter a bus.

Free Meal for Jobless

I was hopping around some blogs and I found out a post from Cruel Angel about free meal for those who lost their job in UAE.

I wasn't believe got such thing since Dubai now are having serious financial tsunami, many expatriates are losing their job across UAE included our joint venture partner company is retrenching so many employees. Many mega projects have to KIV in order to overcome the financial crisis, luckily my working company still remain all employees and I'm safe for this moment.

Today I surf around Gulf News to read about local news here and I found out a hotel in Dubai is offering free meal for those who lost jobs in UAE. I felt that is so kind from the hotel, and I think it won't happen in my home country to organise such charity unless 'open house' during festive season.

From Gulf News

I wonder does those lost their jobs here still got appetite to have meals? To take a cab here is so expensive and if drive on own car sure will stuck with traffic and difficult to find a parking. What kind of food are they offering?

Free Meal!!!

Long Waited...

I'm really frustrated with the music source in Dubai, I've been waited more than 2 months for 2 concert DVDs and it still haven't arrived to Dubai.

I started looking for these 2 DVDs since 2 months ago but it seems like very unlikely to get it so soon or maybe will not get it forever! Even the largest music store in Dubai also don't have it.

David Gilmour - Live in Gdansk

Dream Theater - Chaos in Motion

I keep on searching at Virgin Megastores across Dubai and they don't have it, when I ask for it the sales person will always told me "we don't take any order". What is this? Virgin Megastores don't accept orders? I really disappointed with this kind of service.

Then I asked when the DVD will arrive in Dubai, and they told me probably another 2 weeks or a month, they also told me "no choice, this (Dubai) is out of the world, nothing is well updated here".

Another one, I've been waited a book from my old best friend who send me from Canada since October and now still not yet reach to Dubai. This book also can't find in any book stores in Dubai.

The Black Strat cover

Inside The Black Strat book

This book is about my dream guitar - The Black Strat by my favorite guitarist, David Gilmour from Pink Floyd. This guitar really unique and I posted about it before in this blog how I hunger about this guitar, and I checked all music instrument stores in Dubai, none of it has sell it in Dubai, how frustrated am I now! My life is so boring & frustrated in Dubai.

Waiting...
