The Lost Chambers

Last Friday me and some colleagues went to visit The Lost Chambers at Atlantis The Palm in Palm Jumeirah Island, Dubai. It was our first time enter into this world famous Palm Island.

Our target is to visit The Lost Chambers to watch a captured whale shark which became a big controversy from NGOs around the world, many parties want to free the whale shark.

The entrance fee is not that cheap, for adults price is Dhs 70, and for children price is Dhs 55.

I couldn't manage to snap a clear shots on the whale shark since it was swimming on the water surface all the time.

The fishes are not as much as I expected, after we came out from The Lost Chamber, we found out if watch from the Hotel main entrance we can watch the big aquarium for free!!! To me it's not that worth to pay Dhs 70 just to watch few extra species of fish in there.

So Crabby

Despite I still waiting my new accommodation, last night I joined my colleagues went to an island in Umm Al Quwain for catch crabs and BBQ session.

The trip was from midnight to early morning, we have to take a boat to reach the island. The weather now is not so bad since it's going to be winter soon. The wind blow is quite cold sometimes, and lots of people also went to the island for crabby trip.

I was busy to snap some photos and never really join as chef.

This time I use 18x zoom (486mm) plus with 3x of digital zoom to get the closer look of the moon. I was using Manual mode, F: 8, Speed: 125, ISO: 100.

The crabs

Sea cucumber

During low tide, my colleagues managed to catch more crabs, some of them even found sea cucumber there. Many don't know that is sea cucumber which is quite expensive, got few foreigner came to ask what the hell is that?

Leaving the island

I'm quite happy with this trip, at least we all were having lots of fun, lots of laughter and lots of actions. At least I can relax my mind and forget about my accommodation problems. This is the 1st time ever we all self-organised this kind of activities together with all colleagues, I wish to have more of activities among all colleagues to get closer on team work relationships.

Homeless

I really don't understand why my life in Dubai is so restless, now I'm online at other accommodation. My accommodation's electricity has been cut off due to owner's problems. Dubai Municipality (DM) has ordered Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to cut off the power. This issue will not going to resolve so soon since DM has instructed DEWA to do so.

I'm now have to stay at another accommodation for temporary, it looks like we have to shift out from the current accommodation, and it will be my 8th times shifting my accommodation in a year I working in Dubai.

I really pissed off with our HR Manager's arrangement, he knows the problem will be happened but never do any backup plan earlier. Yesterday we have to live without electricity, no air conditioner, no water and with the hot weather I can't sleep at all whole night.

The HR is going to get another accommodation for us and expected some of us have to live in living hall due to budget constrained, what a fuck is that? I will not going to allow this, why others all can have a peaceful and comfortable accommodation but not us? I've been shifted so many times and the situation is getting even worst, if this matter still not solve I'll gonna leave this company.

Eid Mubarak From Dubai

This is my 2nd time to celebrate Eid Al Fitr (Hari Raya Aidilfitri in Malaysia) in UAE. Usually in Middle East, Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated 1 day earlier than in Malaysia. Today (1 Oct 2008) is first day of Hari Raya in Malaysia, so yesterday (30 Sept 2008) UAE is celebrating Eid Al Fitr, this is the only time we all have public holiday.

Yesterday I found some time to go out for photo shooting with my new camera, I went out with my colleagues to Mall of Emirates and then having dinner in Souk Madinat Jumeirah.
