Dream Theater (Systematic Chaos)

Dream Theater has released their latest album 'Systematic Chaos' in early June 2007. I bought this album end of June 2007 when the album just arrived in Malaysia.

I've been listened to this album almost everyday, and I would like to say it's kick-ass, they still rock as hard as they are with the ultimate fast kick-double-bass drum, lightning speed lead guitar and bass guitar picking, and super fast fingers on keyboard.

The album track listing:

1. In The Presence of Enemies Pt.1 (9:00)
2. Forsaken (5:36)
3. Constant Motion (6:55)
4. The Dark Eternal Night (8:51)
5. Repentance (10:43)
6. Prophets Of War (6:01)
7. The Ministry of Lost Souls (14:57)
8. In The Presence of Enemies Pt.2 (16:38)

For my opinion, I prefer 'The Ministry of Lost Souls' which is more melody and progressive, I like the final part of the song, the guitar solo simply awesome.

My second choice is 'The Dark Eternal Night', this song really can blast out your speakers, it's very heavy after all. 'In The Presence of Enemies Pt.1 & Pt.2' also are my favorite tune from this album, it really sounds like Rush in some parts.

'Constant Motion' and 'Forsaken' are not that bad after all after listened to in for some times.

The sound really heavy with the 7 strings lead guitar, too bad they never show John Petrucci's guitar solo part. I'm surprised that John Myung (bassist) was using Music Man's 5 strings bass instead of his signature series Yamaha's 6 strings bass guitar. As for drummer, Mike Portnoy as usual still using his most craziest drum set. Jordan Rudess the keyboardist really tried out everything to get the perfect sound match with the songs. For vocalist, I got not much comment on it, I think they should change it.

Overall, I like this album. If you love heavy rock musics or progressive rock musics, you shouldn't miss this album.

Dream Theater Rocks!!!

That clip... *jaw on floor*

Their technical skills are so goddamn awesome, but I just can't get over the terrible singing, haha.

Love watching that clip though. Amazing.
