Pirates/Band Of The Week - Uriah Heep

Before I start my Band Of The Week, I would like to thank Nuffnang who organised and sponsor to bloggers for the Pirates Of The Caribbean 3 movie last night at Cineleisure. Congratulations to Tim and his team who did the job very well, thanks to you all! I was really enjoy the show and also met many of bloggers around.

Tim was giving a short speech

Too bad the show end so late, everyone were rushing home for rest, today is another busy working or studying day for everyone. If not this grand bloggers gathering will be more fun to everyone. The funniest thing is I don't know which 'lengluis' blogger sitting next to me, I also too shy to ask what is their blogs :P

*************************************************

This weekend my choice on Band Of The Week goes to Uriah Heep. I know this band will be another unfamiliar band to most of you all, so now I'm going to introduce to you all.

As usual my song selection, first will be my all time favorite song, July Morning, it's a very beautiful classic rock tune. Next will be The Wizard, one of their famous song. Then will be my another favorite, Gypsy. Finally my selection is Look At Yourself.

About Uriah Heep

Uriah Heep are an English rock band formed in 1969. they also sometimes jokingly referred to as "The Beach Boys of heavy metal" for their melodic songs, and trademark multi-part harmony backing vocals.

Uriah Heep

Their music draws on diverse influences including progressive rock, hard rock, heavy metal, jazz and even country on occasion. In spite of their huge popularity in Britain and continental Europe. Too bad they were never able to break into the American market in a big way.

Uriah Heep (Present)

Uriah Heep still maintain a significant following in Germany, the Netherlands, the Scandinavian Peninsula, the Balkan Peninsula, Japan and Russia, and they still perform at stadium-sized venues.

Uriah Heep... The band never stop rock n roll!!!

Happy Weekend!!!

I loved their song Easy Living. I actually saw them live at an outdoor show in 1977 in Germany at Lorelei. This was a beautiful Roman ampitheater built on a rise along the Rhine River.

Wow! The year u watched them was the year I born. Cool...

Oh contraire!

I'm a Heepster to the core! I just wish they'd do an American tour. I'm planning my first trip to Europe around one of their tour dates!

Yeah, the Vatican is important to me being a Catholic and all... but seeing Uriah Heep live in concert has priority right now.

They have a new album coming out in June '08 called "Wake the Sleeper!"
