About The Allman Brothers Band

The Allman Brothers Band is a band from Macon, Georgia. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame labeled this band as "The principal architect of Southern Rock". This band was formed in 1969 and described as "the best damn rock and roll band in this country has produced in past five years" by Rolling Stone's George Kimball.

The band has been awarded eleven Gold and five Platinum albums between 1971 and 2005. Rolling Stone magazine listen The Allman Brothers Band as one their 100 Greatest Artist of All Time in 2004.

History

The band was formed in Jacksonville, Florida on March 26, 1969. The band members were Duane Allman (slide guitar & lead guitar), Gregg Allman (vocal, organ), Dickey Betts (lead guitars, vocal), Berry Oakley (bass guitar), Butch Trucks (drums) and Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson (drums). Duane and Gregg had originally been in a garage band called The Escorts.

Duane Allman killed in a motorcycle accidents on October 29, 1971 in Macon, Georgia when he collided with a lumber truck. Dickey Betts filled Duane's former role in completing the last album he participated. After some concerts the band added Chuck Leavell (pianist) to gain another lead instrument but without directly replacing Duane.

Berry Oakley died in another motorcycle accident on November 11, 1972 only three blocks away from the site of Duane Allman's fatal accident. Oakley was replaced by Lamar Williams at the end of 1972.

Personality conflicts started to tear the band apart during late 70's and 80's when Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts both began their solo album. In 1989 The Allman Brothers reunited and returned to popular consciousness of the American public until present day.

How To Sleep At Work

Do you have any problem of feeling tired and sleepy during office hour? I guess most of you (included myself) have the same problem. This is because of most of us sleep late at night, married couple sure got special project going on during late night. Myself I rock till late night + read blogs. Others might 'curi ayam or curi itik' la... haha.

So, how do you pretend you still awake but in fact you are in deep sleep? Draw fake eyes and stick on it? This method outdated already, now I got a new method which very creative and effective...

My favorite curry mee

I'll never miss this place to get refreshment. The drinks here is super-duper cheap and you can never find any place cheaper than it. Click on the 1st picture to enlarge it then you'll see cheap is the prices. The curry mee there also excellent, the portion is just nice to me, not too big. The only thing the curry mee stall only open at evening and will finish quite early, most of the time I got no chance to taste it.

You'll never go wrong in this Shatow Lane, now it has a bigger and nicer hawker stall there called New World Park. All the old stalls in Shatow Lane has been moved into this hawker centre. Now you no need to worry about parking problem and also there is more seats for you all.

#3 - Penang Batu Lanchang (Si Yang Yang Cafe)

It's been many years I still love the chicken rice there. The cafe just located next to Nam Hwa Hospital at Batu Lanchang. I love the sauce which very intent and just nice with the fragrant rice. I'm a huge fan of chicken rice and I never feel bored eating it over and over again.

#2 - Penang Air Itam Market

I think I no need to explain so much about it. This is the most well-known Asam Laksa not only in Penang but also in Malaysia. The stall just located at the Air Itam market and on the way to go up to Kek Lok Si Temple. This stall witll start selling from afternoon till evening.

Alright, this is the place where I grow up. Now this street can be named as 'Street of Foods'. Can you imagine I still haven't try all the foods along this street for so many years! Now many shop houses were build along this street and very hardly to see any old wooden house anymore. This street also can be as China Street in Butterworth, you can find all types of chinese foods over here.

To live in this place, you don't have to worry of your stomach suffer from hungry, you just have to worry how much you can eat... haha.

My Convocation

I'm safe and sound in Penang now, I reached my hometown Butterworth at 12am this morning. I was a terrible tired journey for me, I left Skudai, Johor at about 2pm yesterday right after my convocation. We stopped at my KL house for a short rest, took a nice bath and dinner then started move to north.

My convocation was going smoothly, but I was so sleepy and tired because I woke up at 3am in that morning due to an unnecessary call. My parents thought it was 5am and they went to take bath. When I told them it just only 3 something morning. Hell... after that we all unable to sleep anymore.

Our cert was presented by Sultana of Johor, we were so lucky our convocation was on Saturday, the other day the cert will presented by others.

Quick and Short Update

Ok, you must be wondering how can I update? I'm at Starbucks now in Jaya Jusco Taman Universiti Skudai.

I'm now waiting for my pictures process in a nearby photo shop. Tomorrow is my convocation and I have to wake up early morning and reach UTM by 6.30am. After the convocation will going back to Penang together with my parents and my younger brother. We may overnight in my house in KL if I really tired.

That's all my quick update, thanks to all who left comments in my previous post, no more congratulate ok? To me is nothing to be proud about. Will post some cam-whore pictures in my coming post ok?

Goodbye My Work + Hiatus

Don't get me wrong, I'm not MIA (Missing in Action) purposely. Yesterday (Wednesday) was my last day for my current job, I'm clearing my annual leave now and looking forward for my new job in April.

Sorry that no Band Of The Week for this weekend. I'm heading down to Johor later afternoon for my convocation on this coming Saturday. I'm sure most of you wondering now, what this (me) old man going for what convocation?

Ok, I'm not that lucky like others, I have to do step by step, from Certificate to Diploma, then from Diploma to Degree (Bachelor of Engineering). I did my part time Degree 6 years ago and supposedly I can graduate in 2005 but stupid UTM never offered that only paper (Islamic) I left to complete my Degree. So I have to wait for another year and finally I completed that only subject in 2006. After that again... UTM took too slow to process my application for my convocation, so... I only can attend my convocation in this year. I totally wasted 2 years for my bloody hell Degree.

I was planning not to go for this convocation, but my parents want to attend it, so no choice I have to go. Later afternoon they'll arrive to KL by lunch hour then we'll shoot straight to Skudai, Johor. After my convocation on this Saturday, I'll straight shoot back from Johor to Penang! Yes, I'm driving, really can die one.

KL to Johor + Johor to Penang + Penang to KL = Half Dead!!!

Why Michelin Tyre Pull Off From Formula One?

All these years in Formula One race, the battle not only between drivers and racing teams. One of the major war is tyre war. Recent years only 2 manufactures - Michelin and Bridgestone have a great fight on each other. In 2005 and 2006 season, Michelin tyre dominated most of the race which help Fernando Alonso won his double world champion title in that years.

This year, Michelin no longer in Formula One business, now Bridgestone conquer the Formula One business, they supply their tyres to all Formula One teams.

Bite The Eyes

Ah Beng used to hang out in a pub and betting with strangers with pool and darts to get some free booze. Most of the time he won.

One day, a Stranger came into the pub for some booze. Ah Beng then approached to that Stranger...

Ah Beng : Hello... 1st time here?
Stranger : Yeah...?
Ah Beng : Ok... chun! Now I got a deal, I want to challenge you, who lose will spend the winner all night long.

Ah Beng lost both games and he very frustrated and want to win back everything. Suddenly he came out with a strange idea...

Out of a sudden, the Stranger took off his fake teeth and put on his left eye and bite it...

1. My brader Ah Nel, he is a real warrior and my hero too. We really need him to protect us from any attack. If we lucky can find stout on an island, so I can 'yam seng' with him kaw kaw lor... LOL

2. My taikor Wingz, why I need him? Because Wingz can cook! We need foods to survive so he is the right person to together-gather with us. He also can entertain us with tonnes of jokes when we are boring.

3. Simple American, he was an army before, so he is very good in skills to be a survivor. We need him to be our guardian in case got attack by 'the others'. I believe he also good in hunting so let Wingz to cook... hehehe.

4. I also want a person who got super power, he is CKYeo, he can control the sky to keep anything if 'the others' come attack us. I also can sing Jacky Cheung's song with him and also talk about Manchester United... wahahaha.

5. We also need a doctor in case got illness or injury, so the best person I think is Chen. She can handle it very well. Without her we all also cannot survive. She also very good in hunting nice foods, so with her around we can get many nice foods too... :P

6. Last person will be LaundryAmah, she very expert in doing laundry works. So I need her to wash my clothes lor... I don't like my clothes dirty mah... hahaha, she sure hamtam me kaw kaw one.

Band Of The Week - Dream Theater

Alright, as I promised this 'Band Of The Week' will back after the bloggers gathering. Back to my business, this weekend I want to introduce you all my most favorite rock band - Dream Theater.

Let's start with my favorite songs selection. Hollow Years (Live at Budokan) is one of my most favorite song, the guitar solo by John Petrucci really killer! Next also another live version, The Spirit Carries On (20th Anniversary World Tour), the guitar solo... again will make you cry too. Following will be the heavy one, As I Am... this song really powerful!!! One of their most favorite song is Metropolis, that's another one of their finest music work. Lastly will be Another Day, another slow version from this band.

Actually I prefer even more in heavy version, but I afraid you all can't take it, so I just posted the slow version.

About Dream Theater

Dream Theater is a progressive metal band formed by Mike Portnoy (drums), John Petrucci (guitars) and John Myung (bass guitars). Three of them were from Berklee College of Music in United State. The current line up of this band together with Jordan Rudess (keyboards) and Kevin James LaBrie (singer).

Dream Theater also is a well known for the technical proficiency of each instrumental, they also won many awards from music magazines.

History

Dream Theater was formed in 1985 and named as Majesty. Somehow in 1986 they were forced to change their name when another band named Majesty threatening legal action. Therefor, Portnoy's father suggested named as Dream Theater, the name of a now demolished theater in Monterey, California.

John Petrucci

He is one of the most finest guitar palyer I ever seen, I really admire his skills. Now he also join with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai for the G3 tour. Petrucci also notable as one of the musicians to popularize the usage of seven strings guitar (alongside Steve Vai, Suicidal Tendencies guitarist Rocky George and the nu metal band Korn).

Mike Portnoy

Portnoy has won 22 awards from the Modern Drummer Magazine. He was the youngest (at 37 years of age) to be inducted into the Modern Drummer magazine's Rock Drummer Hall of Fame. He is one of my favorite rock drummers, I really enjoy to see he plays on drums.

John Myung

Myung has somewhat become the mystery member of Dream Theater. He really rarely speak and draw attention to himself in concerts. He is very quiet and very committed into his career. I've met Myung in personal in 2005 when he came to Malaysia. I was so excited to meet him in his bass clinic and get his autograph, and... I did it! I got his autograph on a post card and one of my Dream Theater's CD cover.

Can anyone please kill me? I've been tagged again! Come on... I'm not famous, I don't want to be famous, I'm not handsome too, please don't ever say I'm handsome again. I'll be more happy if you all just call me Crap one or Rock one. This time Sasha tagged me with this 'What's In My Bag'.

Since I graduated from my part time studying on Bachelor of Engineering, I never really use my bag anymore. I don't carry bag to work too...

The bag I always carrying around now days is my badminton bag. I used to play twice a week, so... allow me to do this tag with my badminton bag ok?

1. My 2 killer weapons (rackets), one is Yonex and another one is Bedini. I used to have 3 rackets, but one broken already, I plan to get another one soon.
2. Yoko Yoko, that's for before the game to relief my muscles when warming up.
3. Deep Heating Rub, that's for if got injury... just in case la.
   
4. Ankle Guard, that's for if I sprain my ankle, my ankle always feel pain due to long term injury from last time.
5. Wristband, that's to protect my wrist and stop my sweat from my arm to my palm.

Just To Buy One Hour Of Time

This is a good story I got from my email but in Malay Language, but I translate it into English la, anyway... my English only half bucket of water, if you don't understand just 'hantam' me ok?

A father came back late night after work and looks tired, the son only 7 years old approached to his father and get the briefcase, then the son asked:

Son : Daddy, may I ask you a question?
Father : mmm... What's that?
Son : Daddy... How much you earn per hour for your job?
Father : This is none of your business!

The father looks fierce...

Son : Daddy... Please... I just want to know, please let me know how much you earn per hour?
Father : 20 dollars per hour, why you want to know?
Son : Oh... 20 dollars.

The son looks down...

Son : May I borrow 10 dollars from you daddy?

The father started angry then said...

Father : No wonder you asked me how much I earn per hour, what you want to do with 10 dollar so much?! Must be wanted to buy toys right? Daddy work so hard to earn money for you and you wanted to waste it like that? What time now? Go to bed now!

The son keep quiet and went into his room. The father then sat on a sofa and think why his son need so much of money in fact he never ask so much money before. After 2 hours, the father thinks that maybe his son need to money to buy books for his study. Then the father walked into his son's room, and he found out his son still not sleeping yet.

Father : You really need 10 dollars? Nah! Take it.

The father took out his 10 dollars from his wallet, the son looks so happy and smile.

Son : Thank you daddy.

The son then took off his pillow and the father saw another 10 dollars under the pillow. The father started angry again and said...

Father : You already got money why you asking from me some more?!

The son looks down then took all the money together and explained...

Son : All these money I collected from my school pocket money, it's still not enough so I ask from you another 10 dollars.
Father : Still not enough to buy what?!!!
Son : Daddy... now I got 20 dollars, you take it all now, I just want to buy your ONE hour of time only to have dinner with me tomorrow, I really miss the moment we all having dinner together.

The moral of this story, please spend more time with your kids or your love one. We can see now days kids are losing their parents love. Most parents are busy for earning more income, but they never think of what their kids really need. Youngster now days become so bad because most of them never really have love from parents, they rather mix with outside friends and learn bad things. This also one of the factor to create our social problems.

Typical Malaysian Drivers' Facts

I can't tahan already, I know some of you will agree with my points, some of you will hantam me, but I don't care lah, I just wanna crap it out...

1. Speed
I found out most of the drivers drive very fast in normal road with only 60km/h speed limit, but when in highway, some morons just drive damn slow in the fast lane. Meanwhile, got many drive more than 110km/h in the fast lane.

When you try to switch lane to fast/slow lane (with signal), the car behind don't let you in. This also happened when you come out from a junction, most of the cars will not let you through.

2. Signals
Many drivers seem like don't know how to use signal while driving, most of them never use it when made a turn, this can cause road accident anytime! Some pula don't how to switch off the signal light after turning, other people will misunderstand with it too.

During heavy rain, many drivers like to use emergency signal, this also wrong, it can make other people misunderstand it too. Emergency signal only can use when your car is halt or emergency case.

Many drivers also never use signal when they try to switch lane, this action really dangerous!

3. Modification
This mostly happened to youngsters, to me if you modify your car kits moderately is alright, but many like to modify until the car looks like can fly.

Now days many cars changed to bigger exhaust and louder, these people really brainless, imagine you drive in the midnight and everyone were into deep sleep and suddenly the exhaust sound wake you up! This always happened in my place here, I really pissed of it. My car exhaust original one was the sport version which is not so loud but I changed to older version which is more quiet. Imagine if you drive long distance, the noise really irritating your ear and will get headache.

4. Horn
Most of the drivers here don't know how to use the car horn to warn someone, what I saw they simply like to horn to get attention from sexy girls walking on the streets.

Some of them like to press the horn for a very long duration although the person you wanted to warn is already aware, that's really irritating!

Many drivers like to horn non stop to the cars which block their way out from parking, this happened everyday in my place there, when in midnight that noise really tortured me. They never think that so many babies or kids or old people were sleeping?

5. Parking
Many cars like to make illegal parking or double parking at commercial buildings. This really cause a massive traffic jam. They not willing to pay for proper parking which provided. Come on... you can afford to drive luxury car but you can't pay for the parking? How shame!!!

Some of the cars don't know how to park properly too, they can park their car until you can't open your car door. Besides that some of them also parked into 2 car park box instead of 1!

6. Windscreen
Now days many cars like to tinted their windscreen into very dark color until we can't see inside of the car. The worst part is the rear windscreen they tinted or blocked with sun shade, this will confusing the driver behind you, the car behind you can't see what happen in front of your car, if the front car make emergency brake, behind your car will not see it, then you make emergency brake, the car behind you sure bang your car from the back.

Many don't know if you block your rear windscreen, you'll in danger all the time, car behind you will bang you anytime! I saw many this kind of accidents, the first car's rear windscreen was black and not visible at all.

7. Jump Q
This action really make the traffic even more jam! They always think will be more faster, but in fact this action make it even worst! This always happen during peak hour, you can see from 2 lanes become 3 lanes or even more, these people really 'kiasu'.

I really hate people Jump Q in front of me, I really felt shame of their move. They always said we Malaysian no standard, why? Because got them behave like that la!

8. Car Stereo
Many of the cars here like to modify their car audio system into booming sound, I wonder how they can stand for the loud sound in the car, when got emergency happen, they can't even hear the siren from fire engine, ambulance and police patrol car.

They also try to get attention from everyone surrounding, are they deaf one ah?

9. Never Follow Traffic Light Rules
To them, Green is go, Orange is speed up and Red is still can go if you dare. Are they never appreciate their own life? If not please at least take care of other people life la! I saw many accidents happened on my own eyes at traffic light junctions.

Sometimes the light still in Red but behind my car got someone already horn me and ask me to go, what the hack is that?! How stupid they are? I really gonna take a book and throw to them and ask them go back study la!

10. Follow Examples From Movies/Auto Racing

Registration Guide for 'Together-gather Bloggers Party'

Tomorrow!!! Yes... One more day to go, is our first ever biggest bloggers gathering in Malaysia. Here is some simple guides for all participants who registered to join this party.

For your information (for those who registered to join this party), I hope you all get this message and then past to any friends who join this party about this information to avoid any misunderstand during the gathering.

Here is the layout...

We'll setup 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 registration counter (as stated in above).

No. 1 (Registration) - Participants need to register to the person in-charge.

No. 2 (Ticketing) - After registration, each participant will collect a ticket with a lucky draw number.

No. 3 (Lucky Draw) - Participants need to pass their ticket to the person in-charge there to tear the number from the ticket into a lucky draw box.

No. 4 (Door Gift) - Participants will pick a group (A or B or C) from a box which provided and collect their door gift. The grouping will be used for group games too.

No. 5 (Name Tag) - Person in-charge will pass a sticker to every participant to write down their name and stick on it.

My Window View

What a lazy Sunday for me, has been busy doing my part of "Together-gather Bloggers Party" work. I really ran off of idea what to blog, so now I just wanna post my another 'Chiak Pa Boh Zhu Zhor' (eat too full nothing to do) picture snap from my window...

I always stand at my room window and just staring at surrounding see what is going on out there, sometimes I can day dreaming over there for some time.

I also can see fireworks around during festive seasons.

How boring is my window's view, how I wish nearby got another block of building got pretty chicks around, so I can wash my eyes kaw kaw everyday lor... LOL.

Few days back I saw many tried on "What Animal Were You In a Past Life?" thing. So I also 'chiak pa boh shu zhor' (eat too full nothing to do) and tried on it, it says I was a toad! Cilaka.. why not a snake?
